User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Excellent TV, does not have DLNA like it seems
Pretty much all the positive reviews are spot on. This TV is wonderful in every way. However, I was lead to believe that it had DLNA from the Amazon product page. It does not. Only the 7-series (LN52A750) and above models have this feature. Fortunately, I have a few other UPnP media center options available to me, so it’s not that big of a deal. If not, I’d recommend spending the extra money on the newer model to get the DLNA fanciness.

5 Stars Super clear, super bright, some artifacts with Auto Motion Plus
Been waiting for this tv for months…finally got it yesterday. It was super bright and super clear (with the gloss screen), amazing color too. There are some reflections if you have a bright room, otherwise the brightness of the image will outshine the reflections. I can only find a better picture in Samsung’s own 5281f but it does not have 120hz Auto Motion Plus.

I love the Auto Motion Plus, (low - high), even it induces some artifacts. For slower motion scenes, everything looks so life like, it is like animated real life motion….some people may not like it cause it is so non-traditional tv like. It also depends on the source material, if the source is blur motion, then the AMP does not seem to change it too much (e.g. 480i tv material), but you can see the effect on 1080i tv material and dvd, and most noticibly on 1080p hd-dvd & blueray. Of course you can always turn the AMP off and it will look like your old tv motion…if you don’t mind slight artifacts around your images during fast motions, you will love this feature.

This quality, this image, and this size, for this price, it is a no-brainer. Oh the CEVA delivery service in the Bay Area CA was excellent too, they waited for you to tune all channels and hook up to the HDDVD to check functions and picture! I have never seen that in my life. Only complaint is that Amazon did not give them my phone number, I have to contact CEVA to schedule delivery.

5 Stars Believe all the hype
Like many of you, I did a great amount of research and “eye-tests” at local shops. I had a 50″ Sony rear-projection set (720p/1080i) that had service me well for 3 years. I thought the picture quality was pretty damn good on this set, and wasn’t sure if upgrading to a newer TV was worth it, or if it was even going to look better. But after a week of putting this Samsung through its paces, my conclusion is that its worth every dime!

I didn’t realize how much better my blurays could look with this set. The color, depth, clarity of this set is unreal. Its susbstantially brighter and crisper than my Sony. You really have to see this set in acion to appreciate it. Specifications don’t mean anything if the picure isn’t perfect. You know those bluray demo kiosks inside Best Buy? My picure looks like that, but better. I’m just blown away with the level of improvement over my Sony. Its makes my investment in the PS3 just that much more worth it.

This is a general statement, but these days, most TV’s will give you a pretty good-looking picture (especially with HD sources). Heck, my Sony TV still looks great (even though its been moved to the bedroom). However, this Samsung 650 is a few notches above the others.

Bottom line: Picture quality that rivals/exceeds Sony XBR, but priced like a 2nd tier brand (Philips, Toshiba, Sharp). Buy it! No regrets!

5 Stars This TV is Insane!
I have nothing else to say that hasn’t already been said in the 140+ great reviews before me.

5 Stars Love it!
We got ours a week ago. Came in perfect package. Installation was straight forward. I was concerned that HDTV doesn’t look as great as they do in the store. My family room has fair amount of light reflection - but TV picture looks great and seems to adjust automatically. I am satisfied 100%. I also found a perfectly matching TV stand - Techcraft BW25125M TV Stand - I bought it at local B&B Appliance in Cleveland area for $269. Can’t get any better than that.

I also got 36 months same as cash deal from Amazon card.

Also, prices dropped by $95 today. I called Amazon and they credited my account for the difference - no questions asked. All in all will highly recommend this TV to everyone. Great buying experience at Amazon.
